Definitely one of BMWs more attractive models.

I hate you because you don’t have to have a front plate.

you should hate me because I choose not to have a front plate, it’s a Texas car, but didn’t come with a front plate bracket, and the M3 has been blasting around since July of 2014 sans front plate, so I figured the 1 would continue that tradition.

oooh, I do like me a rebel.

I live in Virginia, so if I don’t run a front plate I will most certainly get reamed every five seconds.

Interesting, cause my M3 originally came from Sterling BMW in Virginia, and if I remember the service records correctly (I’d check but the records are in TX and I’m in GA right now) it was serviced there for a while, and all the nearby states the previous owner could have lived in require a front plate, and it was the original bumper until I decided that I needed to see what an M3 did to a garage wall, and it didn’t have a front plate holder, so my guess (or what I like to think) is the original owner of my car was also a rebel. Although I do remember the car got it’s original 1200 mile service at 1202 miles, so a fastidious rebel.

Huh, I live right around there believe it or not.

I’m guessing it got repainted at some point along the line, it’s a no-go running no plates on this area. Lots of police presence.

A friend who lives in Charlottesville has been running all of his cars sans plate since he moved there in the mid-90's

How many times has he been ticketed?

If I did that in NOVA, I would get multiple tickets in a very short amount of time.

They might have also had it on a tow hook adapter, or it got repainted, who knows, one of life’s mysteries.

I know a couple, but not recently. He always does keep the front plate somewhere in the vehicle. Under the seat in his Miata, in the spare tire thingy in his Outback, and in the glovebox of his wife’s Odyssey.

Well, I get the Miata.

I don’t get the Odyssey and Outback. That’s literally GIVING the police reasons to pull him over and it’s not like those are show cars or anything.

I like the exterior a lot, but the interior... not too much.

He got pulled over quite often when he had a Speed3, but that’s probably because he was driving 45.01 MPH in a 45 MPH zone.
